You can control bass, medium, treble, volume, pitch and tempo using the knobs provided. Loading songs into either of the turnta bles ca n be done through the DJ Console.

There are special outputs for the DJ’s headphones with which you can set cue points and adjust the pitch and tempo of the next track to be played. Cross fading can be done easily.

Built-in effects can be applied in real time. There is a jack for mic input if you want to add your voice to the tracks. Essentially, the basic features found in the DJ software can be accessed through the DJ Console. When the software is not running, the Console becomes inactive and functions as a 5.1 soundcard with DVD capabilities (remember that the software for this is not provided).

The cost of professional DJ equipment is too high for the aspiring DJ. Installation is not a problem-just plug the device in, load the drivers, install the software and you’re good to go.

Each software has its own interface and features; Storm 2.0 DJ Edition has an advanced interface with lots of control options while OtsDJ has a simpler interface, which is subsequently easier to use. The manual is just satisfactory- it has approximately four pages of information on DJing techniques as well as information on how to perform things such as loops, cues, and scratches on the DJ Console. It could have given a little more assistance on the software provided, as going through the individual guides can get frustrating. But once accustomed to it, working the DJ Console is a breeze.
