Asus Zenfones to Get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update in March

After waiting for so long , Asus has finally announced that it will roll out the Android 6.0 update to its lineup of devices in March 2016. Asus has been slow in rolling out the updates to its devices than most other manufacturers.

With this news, it has been made clear by Asus that the smartphones from 2015 will be the ones which are going to get the update not the earlier ones and it includes a handful devices only.  So, if your device is not in the list then there is no chance of getting it updated.

The List of smartphones scheduled for Android 6.0 Update are

  • ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)
  • ZenFone 2 Laser ( ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE601KL)
  • ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
  • ZenFone Max (ZC550KL)
  • ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML)

If your devices is not in the list just like mine which is Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG), the only way to get updated to Marshmallow or any other future Android is to seek the guidance of XDA forums where dedicated members not only help other members but also try to release firmware before even the official firmware for device is launched.

So, how many of you are stuck on the either Android 4.4 KitKat and Android 5.0 or 5.1 Lollipop with Asus and how many of you have devices that will get the update in future we would love to know.
