Many of our readers have questions regarding the tariff of BSNL 3G. BSNL have made 2G and 3G data plans as one plan so if you are in a 2G service area you will get only 2G Speed and if you are in an area where 3G is available from BSNL or MTNL you will get the same service provided you have set your smartphone on auto mode i.e. switch to 3G if 3G is available or fall back to 2G if no 3G is available.
Earlier BSNL was providing with the cheapest data tariff among all the telcom provider but due to cost increase and other price increases BSNL has been forced to increase their price.
Here are the prices of BSNL 3G/2G data :
|Data STV in Rs.(Inclusive service Tax)||Total bundled free Usage||Validity of freebies (in days)||Data Charges|
|Data Charges in Rs./MB***|
(For APN ‘bsnlstream)
|451||2 GB+Rs 100 talk time||60||2p/10KB||0.25|
We have been a user of BSNL 3G in past and there are times when we do not get more than 80kbps of speed. There are times when I do get more than 2.8Mbps as well. Here is a screenshot of our BSNL 3G data speedtest results on 28th August.
We also have used Vodafone 3G and Idea 3G speeds and found that their speeds to be reliable and quite high. Once we got more than 11.8Mbps on Vodafone 3G network late last year. So how many of you are using BSNL 3G and how many of you are still satisfied with it ? BSNL now offers good speeds where the BSNL 3G data service is available.
