Remove Right Click Menu Items in Internet Explorer

Trisha asks: I use Internet Explorer 8 to browse various websites. It’s a superb browser but whenever I use right click to access the menu items, I encounter a cluttered list of way too many items of absolutely no use to me. This wasn’t the case when I got my laptop reformatted. How do I remove right click menu items in Internet Explorer 8?

Modern browsers have made it easier for us to surf the web. Most of the advanced browsers integrate the important options like Print , Refresh , View Source , Back , Forward ,Select and others in the right click menu items. This is the one feature I love with all my browsers.  However with Internet Explorer it becomes a drawback too.

Disable Touchpad in Acer Laptops

Jenny asks: I am using Acer Aspire 5920 laptop. While typing my palms often touch the Touchpad which moves the cursor from one point to other. I use an external USB mouse. Is there a way I can turn off or disable the touchpad in my Acer Laptop?

Jenny , most of the new Acer Laptops like Acer 5740 come with a button to disable the Touchpad, a feature that was not available in the previous versions. However it can be easily disabled in earlier Acer Laptops as well.

Free Public DNS Server Addresses

Ted asks:  How do I fix this irritating DNS ERROR? Though I am connected to internet, the error “This page cannot be displayed” with the “Cannot find server or DNS error” at the bottom always shows up?

Ted, the problem you are facing is quite common. Most of us use automatic settings to obtain DNS address and thus end up using the DNS address provided by our Internet Service Provider (ISP). If the ISP’s DNS can’t resolve the IP addresses of the websites you will get the DNS error that you have asked.

What you can do is change the DNS address to any of the following free public DNS Servers. You can see the detailed instructions on how to change DNS Server Addresses here.

Forgot Linksys Password? Restore Linksys Router Default Settings

John, since you have forgotten your Linksys router password, the best and the easiest option for you is to restore your Linksys router to default settings.  You can do it by pressing the reset button and resetting through the router’s web based set up page. When you press the reset button on your router for 30 seconds, all the existing settings on the router will be erased and the router’s IP address will become 192.168.1.1 with the username field blank and password admin.
