Change Firefox 4 Tabs Positions to Top or Bottom of Address Bar

Mozilla has just  launched Firefox 4 beta for public download. The new version comes with multiple code and design changes. On the design side, the change most visible is the location of the browser tabs which have been moved to the top of Firefox window and above the address bar somewhat similar to Google Chrome.  Firefox users have been accustomed to see browser tabs located below the address bar.

I personally prefer the new design as it lets me integrate the bookmarks toolbar pretty easily and looks great too. But for users who prefer to change the location of tabs, Firefox 4 gives you option to change their location to either the bottom or the top of address bar. Here is how you do it.

Step 1 : Right Click on the down Arrow at the right end of the Tab bar or right click just before the “http://”  in the address bar.

Step 2 : In the options

1 : Click and select Tabs on Top to see the tabs on top of the address bar.

And click and uncheck Tabs on Top to see the tabs below the address bar.

with the tabs on the bottom, the personas effects do not work on the navigation bar. this is jus awful. I hope this is only a minor issue and will soon be resolved. Some of us like the tabs on the bottom.

issue resolved. what was causing the navigation bar to not become transparent with personas was an add-on mainly Colorful Tabs. Had me worried there. Firefox 4 is awsome!!

thanks, this advice (with google to get me here) helped me do what I wanted to do, that little down arrow is small and easy to miss
