Error Saving Media Attachment

” Error Saving Media Attachment ”

I got an error while I was writing one post on my blog and any of my attempts to upload an image to the server via WordPress would eventually fail. The result was either “Error Saving Media Attachment” or the directory not writable.

Have a look at the images.

and this one as well

I tried to find out what could have exactly caused this type of error as I knew one HTTP Error while uploading pictures to WordPress was in the initial stages of Flash Uploading being used by WordPress.

I visited many sites to get rid of this problem. Then I noticed something unusual. It was my previous wordpress database and files which were causing me problems.

I went to Settings > Miscellaneous SettingsĀ  in WP-Admin and looked at my upload directory which was not belonging to this server and my previous server so I changed it to wp-contents/uploads as it should be and then voila my uploads started working again.

So, If you have this “ERROR Saving Attachment ” type of error then look into your upload directory which does not exist or change its path and your uploads would work again.
