Export Firefox Bookmarks to Safari

Ryder asks: My wife has just got a new MAC. We need to export all her bookmarks from Firefox in my PC to Safari in her MAC. How do we do it?

Bookmarking is one of the best features of the modern day web browsers. With a simple Ctrl + D , the browser saves the web address in your computer’s hard drive, which can be accessed anytime.

Since all the modern day web browsers support this feature, transferring bookmarks from one browser to other doesn’t take that much of an effort.

Ryder, you can follow the following steps to export Firefox bookmarks to Safari .

Step By Step Procedure

Step 1: Load Firefox. Click on Bookmarks on the menu bar and then click on Organize Bookmarks.

Step 2: In the pop up window click on Import and Backup and then Select Export Html.

Step3: Save your bookmarks as html file .

Step 4: Transfer the Bookmarks file to your Mac.

Step 5: Load Safari , Click on File in the Menu bar and then click on Import Bookmarks

Step 6: Select the bookmark file and click Import

That’s all you need to export Firefox bookmarks to Safari . You can also save .html file as a backup for future.

But this advice suggests that you’re working with Firefox and Safari on the same computer, whereas the person above states from PC to Mac. (Which is what I need to do too.) I have tried doing so using the exact same steps as above, saving the html file to an external hard drive. I then tried to import them to Safari on my Mac via the hard drive.

It didn’t work. Anyone have any ideas?
