Fastest Internet Connection in India: 50 Mbps Broadband Plan from Airtel

Airtel seems to be busy breaking its own marks as far as broadband speeds are concerned .It has come up with the fastest internet connection in India, with its 50 Mbps broadband plan. In terms of download speeds this would translate into a speed of 6.25 MBPS. This means you can download a 700 Mb movie in about 2 minutes and a 5 Mb song in less than a second.

Airtel is using VDSL2 technology which is the newest and most advanced standard of DSL Broadband wireline communications. After MTNL, Airtel is only the second operator in India to use VDSL2 technology.

This service is currently being offered in Delhi and Gurgaon and is expected to be available throughout major cities in a few months’ time.

The plan comes with a monthly rental of Rs 8999 and a data transfer limit of 200GB. It also comes with lots of Value Added Services like a Website Builder (Basic), PC Secure (Anti-Virus software) and even an on line Storage option.

Researchers in France announced this week that they have managed to optically transfer data at a record speed of 16.4Tbps (terabits per second). That’s the equivalent of 2.05TB – about 100 HD movies – being copied every single second.
THATS JUST GREAT

I feel so utterly miserable upon this fact that India lags miles behind where the world is now. Telecom Industry here is openly stripping down people of their hard earned money. Funny thing is people are not feeling any problem at all. Brothers, see abroad in other countries, they’ve state-of-the-art fiber optics technology rendering amazing speeds and data plans. Sometimes they offer free broadband along with a landline connection. I wish to clarify that internet is available much cheaper there. I hope people here in India raise their voice against telecom companies.
