Firefox 4 was launched with loads of new features, most of which have been carried over in the latest releases as well. Although most of the updates are pretty useful, some of the users who have upgraded to Firefox 4 and later versions have been complaining about missing the status bar or extension bar in the firefox window.
Status bar has been disabled by default in Firefox5 , but you can get it back by using the following steps.
Step 1: Load Firefox Browser & Click on Firefox Icon on the top left hand corner
Step 2: Click on “Options” .

Step 3: Click on the “Add On Bar” to enable the status bar or the extension bar.

Alternatively you can also use the shortcut “Ctrl” + “/” to activate or deactivate the status bar.
