Gmail Tips: Restore Deleted Gmail Contacts

On an average, we receive hundreds of queries regarding Gmail every week. Off late, one of the queries which most of our users have been asking is whether they can restore their Deleted Gmail Contacts or not.  Here is a similar query by Jeremy

Jeremy: Hi, Recently I was cleaning up my Gmail Contacts and accidently deleted few of the important ones. Is there a way by which I can restore my deleted Gmail Contacts? Help Please.

Gmail does offer us tons of space to save information about our Contacts. However whenever you send an email to a new address or reply to a mail, Gmail automatically saves the available details of the receiver in the contacts. This generally inflates your contact list with information that you never intended to keep. This creates issues while cleaning up your contact list and you end up deleting the important ones.

Well if you too are a victim of similar situation, here is some relief. Yes you can restore deleted Gmail contacts but only and only if you have deleted them within the past 30 days. We have created a step by step guide for your convenience.

Step1: Login into your Gmail account and click on Contacts in the top left corner as shown in the image below.

Step 2: In the Contacts Menu, Click on “More Actions” as shown in the image

Step 3: Now click on “Restore Contacts”.

Step 4: Gmail will ask you to select a particular time frame within the last 30 days.  Select the timeframe and click on Restore

Step 5: You have successfully restored your deleted Gmail contacts.

All your deleted contacts within the selected time frame will be restored. You can also undo a contact import or merge.
