Before purchasing a new router you should keep in mind that you will not be getting such a speed from your ISP  so, it is not worth to invest in a high speed router because it might cost you some more money.

Each online retailer or a computer showroom have their statistics ready for people to choose from the popular WiFi models. You can choose from any model that is selling like a hot cake. The hot cake materials tend to be of current generation and offer a distinctive advantage over their predecessors. So, you can choose from any existing model.

Warranty

Each WiFi router comes with a warranty. As all the WiFi routers are electronic items and you don’t know when the chip will get fried , so the equipment with maximum warranty is best option. If a manufacturer provides you with long term warranty then it is quite likely that they are more focussed towards their products while a lesser warranty will leave you no choice in case your equipment gets bad. So always prefer WiFi routers with maximum Warranty.

Rumors and Mouth to Mouth Publicity

This is one of the most important fact in purchase of a WiFi router, you tend to follow people who tell you about the particular stuff. In my case some of my friends were against NetGears WGR614 wireless router because they were not able to use it, but in my case it work efficiently and worked very well. I am using it since last two years without any problems.  So don’t let anyone’s personal feeling ruin your purchase idea, go and purchase whatever you want.

Same Brand Adapters

Suppose if you have WGR614 from Netgear then you should go with their WG111 Wireless Adapter (both from Netgear) this is because it has been proved from time to time that same brand products have more compatibility then other brands products.

Cost and Budget

The most important factor in choosing new WiFi router is cost and budget, if a Router provides you with extra speed or extra ports then it is going to be costly. Look for a WiFi router which fits in your budget. Spending a considerable amount of money on looks and features is not advisable. Suppose you can purchase WGR614 for $39.99 from Amazon then why spend around $115 for Linksys for approximately same amount of features.  Well its up to you to purchase a WiFi router but eventually take this into consideration as well.
