If creating a contact in Gmail is a piece of cake, deleting them is even easier. We have earlier discussed on how to stop Gmail from automatically adding contacts to your contacts list and how to recover your deleted contacts in Gmail. In this article we will discuss how to permanently delete a Gmail contact that you no longer need and clean up your address book.
How to Permanently Delete a Gmail Contact
Follow these steps to remove a contact from your Gmail Contacts List.
Step 1: Sign into your Gmail account.
Step 2: Click on Contacts on the left hand side menu. This will take you to your Gmail/Google contacts which are listed in alphabetical order. One important thing to know here is that these contacts are shared across all Google Services. Therefore you should think twice before deleting a contact.

Step 3: Now you need to select the contacts that you want to delete. You can choose one contact or multiple contacts by ticking the checkbox next to the contact.

Step 4: After selecting the contacts, click on More in Gmail Bar to reveal options. Now select Delete contact/contacts from dropdown to remove the contacts.
Gmail will automatically delete the contacts from the list and show you the success message. If you think you have deleted the wrong contact, simply click undo link next to the success message.
