Install Extensions on Safari 5 in Windows

Safari 5 was released few days back, with loads of updates and goodies. Among the updates of special interest were the introduction of Extension support and Safari Reader. While Safari reader has had its share of popularity, the extensions are now catching up nicely.

Doing the Homework

1: Download Safari 5 for Windows and Install it on your computer.

2: Launch Safari 5, Click on the Gear Icon on the top right hand corner of browser and Select Show Menu bar.

3: Click on “Edit” in Menu bar and Select Preferences.

4: Go to the Advanced Tab and check Show Develop menu in menu bar.

5: Click on the Develop tab in Menu Bar and select Enable Extensions.

Using and Managing Extensions on Safari 5

You need to find a few extensions for Safari 5 now. We have listed Gmail extensions for Safari 5 and Twitter extensions for Safari 5. You can start with those.

1 : Go to the download page and Download the .safariextz file of the addon.

2 : When you click download, Safari will prompt you to either Open the file or Save it . Click on Open

3 : Now Safari will ask you if you are sure to install the addon. Click on Install to successfully install the extension.

4: To Manage the addons, simply go to Preferences> Extensions. Change the settings as you like . You can even turn off the extension if you want to.

Enable extensions does not appear on the develop menu, I am using windows safari, video downloader
