Some of you might be amused by the title but it is true. National Geographic have decided to enter the video game market and have set up a new division named National Geographic Games that would be primarily dedicated to development of the games for most of the major gaming consoles, PC’s, mobiles and PSP’s.
Under the leadership of Paul Levine, NG hopes to release games which allow the users of all ages to explore the world through the fantasy world. Paul was quoted saying” our global audiences love to play games, and we plan on creating games in-house as well as working with leading global publishers to develop entertaining games that engage those audiences in a relevant way”.
The NGG has already released their first game with the name “Herod’s Lost Tomb”. It is a flash based game and can be downloaded for free from the NG website.
The games for consoles would be released later this year.
