Unlike Windows XP or Windows 7, when you right click the Recycle Bin icon in Windows Vista, you get the option to “Delete” it. It’s not uncommon for users to confuse “Empty Recycle Bin” with “Delete” and thus some of us end up deleting the Recycle Bin Icon in Vista.
In this article we will focus on simplest ways to restore the disappeared Recycle Bin Icon in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Windows Vista
Step 1 : Right click on Desktop and Click Personalization.
Step 2 :In the Personalization Windows, Click on “Change Desktop Icons link” as marked in the image.
Step 3: In the Desktop Icon Settings Window, check the box next to recycle Bin to show the Recycle Bin icon on desktop. Click Apply and then Ok to confirm.
The Recycle Bin Icon will reappear on your Desktop
Windows 7
Follow the same steps as in Vista or use the following steps.
Step 1. Click on Start, in the Search Box type “Desktop Icons” and hit Enter
Step 2. In the Desktop Icon Settings Window, check the box next to recycle Bin to show recycle bin on Desktop. Click OK to confirm.
