There are literally hundreds of ways, we can save a YouTube video, but we are here to discuss the simplest of them all. The simplicity will depend on the web browser you are using. I personally prefer Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome in this respect because they give me choice to choose between different video qualities to download.

Firefox has a great feature to install add-ons. I personally prefer these two add-ons. You can choose any of them. They work equally great.

FlashGot is one of the earliest add-ons to be introduced to Firefox and has been awarded many a times. It downloads all the type of media files (movies, music files, pictures, programs) running in the particular browser tab with a single click. It uses external download managers to get the highest download speeds.
I personally prefer it to save YouTube videos to computer because; once I stream the video online FlashGot saves it instantly with a single click. I don’t have to wait for the download process to complete.
The problem with FlashGot is that it does give you the option of choosing the video format.
Easy YouTube Video Downloader
It is my favorite of all add-ons to save YouTube videos to my computer. Why?
Firstly, it allows me to download all possible formats available for the video (has direct download buttons for FLV, 3GP, MP3, MP4, 720p HD and 1080p Full-HD) with a single click.
Secondly it is non intrusive and very convenient as it shows up like a link, only when I am surfing YouTube.

Google Chrome
You can install extensions in Chrome in same manner as you do in Firefox. Here is the extension I prefer to save YouTube Videos to my computer.
